Greyless in Seattle

Greyless in Seattle began in 2014 as a playful response to the stereotype of Seattle’s endlessly grey skies. Having relocated from sunny Sydney, I set out to explore my new environment through a different lens—literally—photographing scenes from my adopted home and pairing them with bright, complementary Pantone color palettes.

Over time, the project evolved into a visual exploration of the beauty found in the overlooked, the unloved, and even the discarded. Whether it's a forgotten object, a cracked facade, or a fleeting moment of accidental color, Greyless celebrates vibrancy in unexpected places. Each image is an act of re-seeing the ordinary, often accompanied by whimsically named palettes or existing color references that elevate the narrative.

This series is ultimately a love letter to finding color where it’s least expected—and a reminder that even in the greyest places, joy can be found in the details.
